On October 29th, 2009, 77 children from around Southwestern Ontario who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses took the trip of a lifetime during a whirlwind one-day visit to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Joined by 55 members of the London Police Services as well as healthcare professionals, the children were buddied up and set loose in the park for a day of rides, fun, and the chance to meet their favourite Disney characters in person. I had the pleasure and joy of documenting the day for the Sunshine Foundation (www.sunshine.ca) and will not soon forget riding a roller coaster with Jason, who was so excited he asked the ride operator to let him stay on and ride again (the ride operator of course obliged), or the beaming smile on Hailey’s face as she met Mickey and Minnie Mouse in the flesh. Here are some photos from the day:

Beautiful, artful, emotional narrative.
